If your horse needs a vet urgently, call us now on 01270 660014, day or night.
Who answers
- Our own vets provide emergency cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We do not use an outside out-of-hours service.
- Out of hours, your call reaches the vet on duty, who will speak to you or call you back as quickly as possible.
- The vet will give advice over the phone and, where needed, come out to your horse wherever you are in our area.
When we’re open
Our office is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm (excluding bank holidays). Outside these hours, the same number, 01270 660014, reaches the vet on duty.
Out-of-hours fees
Visits outside our normal hours carry an extra out-of-hours fee of up to £175 including VAT. This is on top of the normal charges for the visit, examination and any treatment or medicines. If you’d like an idea of the likely cost, just ask the vet when you call.
What to do while you wait
- Keep yourself and others safe. Don’t put yourself in danger with a distressed horse.
- Note your horse’s symptoms and when they started, and any medicines already given.
- Don’t give any medicines unless the vet tells you to.
- Make sure the vet can find you: have your full address and postcode (or what3words) ready, and put a light on in the yard at night.
See our terms of business for more about our out-of-hours service and payment.
